West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) is installing 10 static water tanks in evacuation sites in Cavite and Batangas to help meet the daily water needs of thousands of families displaced by the recent Taal Volcano eruption.
The photo shows two static water tanks being set up in the evacuation center at Poblacion in Calaca, Batangas. Said evacuation center serves as temporary home for some 1,300 people who were evacuated from the danger zones in Talisay, Lemery, Laurel and Agoncillo, Batangas. Besides the set-up of static water tanks in different areas within Cavite and Batangas, Maynilad is also providing bottled water and other relief goods for evacuees in these provinces.
“Maynilad wants to lend its help in the nationwide effort to support our kababayans in their time of need. Since one of the immediate needs of disaster survivors is water, this is what we are providing heavily at this time,” said Maynilad President and CEO Ramoncito S. Fernandez.
“We are one with the nation in praying that this disaster will soon cease.”
Maynilad’s earthquake relief efforts are being done in coordination with the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF), Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Office of Civil Defense, Department of Social Welfare and Development, and the local government of Cavite and Batangas.
